Thongs & Thong

This post is part novelty, part experiment and part amusement. It is a story of the $120 thongs. Yes, that’s right - $120 for a pair of thongs… or if you prefer, $60 per thong. My first thought, which is often wrong, was “What kind of dumb ass would pay that much money for a thong?” Then I thought, “Those must be some pretty good looking thongs.” Finally I concluded that there is something special about these thongs that make them worth that kind of cash.

I’ll let you decide. Toward the end of this post is a picture of these thongs so that you can decide. Sexy, practical, opulent? It is a personal, perhaps even a private decision that we must make for ourselves. So, without further ado, here are the thongs:

Wait! That's giving it up too soon... keep reading.

The novelty and the amusement is coming up… the experiment will be revealed through my hit counter – and perhaps in the form of comments by a few who were sucked in. Allow me to explain the premise. I read on another post a few months ago that if you want to generate hits, put a few popular search terms in your post. One of the most popular, according to the post, is the word “thong.” As you may have noticed, that word, in both the singular and plural forms, shows up repeatedly. Thong. There it is again.

Just for good measure I threw in “ass” (as in “dumb ass”), “sexy,” “private,” and “personal.” So we’ll all see together how many new visitors stop by based on these popular search terms. SiteMeter (the paid version) allows me to track my visitors based on the search term – let the games begin!

These thongs really did cost $120. How do I know? It's an amusing little story about a boutique and a friend of mine... perhaps I'll tell it some day.

I have to say those thongs are sexy!

You should stop my my father-in-law's shop down main street. It's called "Weird." Tell Wayne and Alien that Lacey sent you. Should be a good time.

Will $120.00 thongs give me happy feet, compared to the Walmart specials? Will I feel sexy all over, or just a dumbass for spending that amount of cash to feel a hard piece of plastic between my toes? One thing I do know is that it's very difficult to dance in thongs........you gotta kick em off and go barefooted.

LOL........

interesting experiment......

well, that's certainly a fine way to start my sunday morning - picturing you wearing a thong or two.

Well, they certainly are nice looking Mike....BUT, $120. of "nice looking"...I don't think so.(lol) But then.....to each his own. Obviously your friend thought they were worth that and that is all that really matters, I guess. It is amazing to me that there are things like T-Shirts out there that are $120, too. And Jeans...My Lord! I've heard that there are some Jeans out there going for $250-#300 a pair. The Emporer's New Clothes are terribly expensive, aren't they?

I would definitely pay $120 for a pair of shoes, I have many times, (even more), but not for a pair of thongs....nope!

Hope you get hit on...with those sexy thongs! ;)

Well 'Thong' means something different here - sad to say I have to keep translating it to relate to feet and shoes - but whichever meaning I would be loathed to spend that much! :-)

Well, I have seen those in person, and they are clearly overpriced.

BTW: Your look (icon) keeps changing. Is it a reflection of the transformation within as well?

Have a good Tuesday.

Boy, those are so plain looking. I have paid $100 for a good pair of "nice" shoe about twice in my life and still have them. I would never pay that much for thongs, though.

But each person has their own set priorities in life and it's their business how they spend their money. That's what's great about all of us being different *smile*.

I hope you post how your experiment results with those "popular search terms." I'd love to hear how it turnes out.

Somehow the thongs I'm picturing are more like the g-strings on the strippers... lol

We call those plastic sandals "flip-flops" locally to avoid the confusion!

(where are the men's commentz?) Good luck fishin!

I've never gotten the whole thong thing. I can't walk properly unless my shoes are fastened around the backs of my feet. So it's either sandals or conventional shoes for me. Toe-scrunching thongs give me a headache.
