I think that instead of swearing on the bible the oath of office they should swear the following oath on either the constitution or the federalist papers.

"I do solemnly swear to uphold the principles held within these sacred documents. That I will put the will of the people first and above those of the special interest groups who try to buy my vote with campaign contributions and special favors. If I break these vows I wish to be immediately removed from office and all benefits associated with the office I have disgraced shall be witheld from me until the day I die"
